The Book of Wrong Things

Deep under the valley of Honeyvale, something goes thump. Nobody has ever noticed it. Nobody except Barnaby: the smallest grown bear in the valley, keeper of the old books, and owner of a notebook he shows to no one. On its last page, underlined twice, are five words: “The thump is getting faster.”

A picture-book adventure in fifteen episodes, for ages 5 to 9 and the grown-ups who read with them. Read aloud by two narrators: choose who reads tonight. The Episode One paperback is coming soon.

The Prologue

Beyond the Bramble Peaks, every bear old enough to stay up late knows the Amber Accord as a bedtime story. They are only half right. It is a bedtime story—this one. But it was real, too. It cost more than anyone will say. When it broke, the forges began to hammer. They have not stopped since.

In Honeyvale, the story is never told at all. That was the idea.

A hand-drawn map of the world of the Amber Accord. Honeyvale and the Great Apiary sit in the top left, ringed by the Bramble Peaks, with Barnaby marked at its edge. Around No-Bear’s Land lie Ironpaw Territory, Ambermane Territory, Shadowfur Territory and Wildborn Territory, and below it all is the Deep.
